Offline parking management system(long range RFID parking control system)



 

Process of offline parking management system:

1. Driver drives a vehicle approaching the barrier gate(the tag/sticker attaches on windscreen or rain wiper),
2. The EPC G2 RFID reader detects the tag/sticker when it is in 5-7 meters range,
3. The barrier gate will be opened automatically, 
4. The vehicle enters or exits,
5. All access history is stored in database for security management.

3. Anti-pass-back in offline mode, anti-pass-back means the vehicle must enter and exit in cycle, this is to avoid some people lend his card to another people and drive 1 more vehicle enter or exit.
 You may choose or cancel anti-pass-back according to your customer’s needs, because in some residence community the customers hope to multiple entering or multiple exiting without limit, these are all depends on clients.

Notices of purchasing hand free long range RFID parking system



There are many vehicles tinted with protective films on front windows, which will sharply reduce the reading effect of RFID tag(inside the vehicle) because EPC G2 tag is passive(no built-in battery) tag.
 
To solve this problem, you may place the card/sticker behind the rearview mirror as area B as below picture, where is clean(no tint film) and preserved for UHF RFID use according to EU car manufacturing standard.

To use the RFID card, there are 2 methods:

1. Insert the card into a card holder and adhere it at the area B as above picture, the rear side of card holder is adhered by 3M glue


2. No need card holder and no adhering on window, you may directly hold the card and show to the Long range RFID reader(need rolling down side window)

Notice: if your local summer temperature is high, such as more than 40
℃/ 104℉, the common PVC card will be bent and not useable finally, so you need to buy PET material high temperature resistant card, if your local summer temperature is mild and around 30℃/ 86℉ , you may choose common material of PVC material card.

If you need more conveniences, you may choose anti-tear-off sticker



You may tear off the rear paper and adhere this sticker right at the area B(behind rearview mirror), anti-tear-off means once it is removed from the windows, it will be torn damaged and cannot be used any more(this is to prevent stealing car). The reading effect of this sticker is as same as card, no obvious difference in applications.

There is another option if you think above 2 recommendations are not suitable, which is rain wiper tag

The dimensions of tag: 201*13*12mm/7.9*0.51*0.47inch

This rain wiper tag should be tied and fixed by plastic thread on the rain wiper, which will have no environment interferences between the tag and the reader so reading effect is good and can be guaranteed.

(1). GKA3001 can control up to how many reader? How to program card in stand-alone mode?
 
Up to 3 readers, 1 for entrance monthly reader, 1 for exit monthly reader, these 2 are for long range RFID connection and residence application, the 3rd one is for entrance hourly reader input, which will be use for revenue parking system(need a desktop reader at exit for hourly payment).
 
Programming card should be processed in online mode by application software, and disconnect the controller when the parameters are finished setup.
 
(2). You recommend to use 2 separate controllers if Entrance & Exit is >30m apart, how to control anti-pass back?
 
Anti-pass-back can be done in 1 controller, if 2 controllers are separated and needs anti-pass-back, we have 2 methods, 1 is online control from the software, the other 1 is we modify the hardware. Currently we recommend online control if you need 2 separate controllers with anti-pass-back function.
 
(3). RS232/485 Converter need to be placed at both end, one at controller & another one at PC?
 
Please see the picture on overview page, the RS232/485 converter should connect between PC and parking controller in online mode and disconnected when in offline mode.  
 
(4). For side by side Entrance/Exit, how to avoid overlap/interfferance of card reading (ie. 7m Entry Reader can read card from vehicle at Exit lane & vice versa)?
 
No, the reader is directional detecting, the tag on opposite lane won’t influence the reader at all, and vice versa.
 
(5) Our parking controller can be used for residence application, and also can be used for parking revenue management system, which no need to change hardware, all you need is adding 1 image capture card(for plate number picture), and change a new revenue software.
